I recently had surgery with with this Dr. Villina. He went over everything very thoroughly and explained exactly how the procedure was going to be done. The morning of surgery, he came in and assured me everything was going to be fine. Throughout my two days stay, Dr. Villina was there to support me in every way. Dr. Villina has a very good bedside manner. That was very important to me.
Dr. V was the 3rd bariatric surgeon I met with for RNY sleeve revision. He put me at ease immediately. He was very thorough and answered every question. He was honest about possible issues. The surgery went perfectly. I have since had two follow up appts. My recovery has been slower because of pre-existing issues with nerve pain, but the actual healing from the surgery has been perfect. Dr. Vallina is an excellent surgeon. Very compassionate about seeing that his patients have a good outcome.Sometimes communication could be clearer. But that is not at the forefront..I'm glad he was my surgeon
DR. VALLINA IS ARROGANT AND DOES NOT LIKE TO ANSWER QUSTIONS. HE WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE TELLING YOU 'IT IS NOT AN INFECTION' WHEN IT IS CLEARLY AN ABCESS. IF HE MAKES A MISTAKE DURING SURGERY, HE DOES NOT SEE THE PATIENT THROUGH, EXPECTING OTHER DOCTORS TO 'FIX YOU.' HE IS RUDE TO NURSES AND DOES NOT TAKE THE TIME TO TALK TO HIS PATIENTS.
Dr. Vallina ignores his patients after surgery. He may stop in and say hi but he does not assess his patients. He does not address concerns about symptoms. He does not answer questions and is in a hurry to leave the hospital room stating, 'I have to get to a surgery.' He always had to 'leave to get to a surgery' when we would ask him questions. I had Bariatric Bypass Surgery by Dr. Vanilla about 2010. Total Success. With God using his hands that operation saved my life. He is the best. Oh yes, I have kept almost all the weight off all these years later. Just pay attention to their instructions. It will. I am 68 years old and still alive and very active. Thank you Dr. Vanilla! After my gallbladder surgery, he spent considerable time with my husband, who remarked that he was the most friendly and kind doctor he's ever met.
