Poor customer service. We are purchasing a new home in Brambleton West. There is no price transparency. They jacked up the cost of options after final selections were made by over $ 9000 and are pressuring us to accept the changes. We truly think there should be legal oversight over such price gouging. Employees are highly impersonal and management team is plain rude and unprofessional. The $9000 math error is more than 30 % increase in price of options selected and yet they want to normalize this error.

The Design Centre appointment provides the opportunity for the homeowner to select the options for their home build. After 15+ years of living in apartment rentals, I have to rate Van Metre the worst management company I've ever experienced. They changed their staff aligned to my building on average every 6 months. Even worse, the property management staff are extremely difficult to get a hold of, even when there are emergencies. Their maintenance process requires you to call an offshore call center whose agents do not have the phone numbers of any Van Metre staff. At first we were really excited to buy a Van Metre home. That sentiment didn't last long. We were downsizing to a condo from a large single family home. My primary concern was parking. I have 2 college aged kids that each had cars, plus my husband and I each have a car. The sales person ASSURED us we would have ample parking -- especially right in front of our home, which is why I paid a premium for an end unit. I currently live in a Van Metre neighborhood that is still under construction. The construction site is sloppy and, due to their negligence, I ran over a roofing nail on the road that ended up costing me over $600. I have an AWD car, so I ended up having to get all my tires replaced because of this nail in one tire. I contacted the company and spoke to 3 different women who all told me something along the lines of "sorry, but we won't reimburse you." Why should I have to pay for their mistakes?
