These reviews are so true! Van Horn is a very corrupt dealer. They may smile and make you feel good but are snakes. Tried to sale me a car at a high interest rate. I went to another dealer and got significantly less rate. I discovered that what they do is have you pay a higher rate and make more money off you. Buyer beware. There are other dealers in town that will treat you more with respect.

Business response:

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, Van Horn Motors of Stevens Point does not control the bank loan rates and can only offer financing through approved banks. Bank rates depend on multiple factors including the type of car, amount of financing needed, credit scores, etc. If the vehicle inquired about and the vehicle purchased were not identical at each dealership, it is no surprise that the loan rates were different.

I bought my 2015 Chevy equinox in December and with one week of having my car the motor went out and when I took it to them for them to fix it, they told me it was a little over 5000 and I had to fight with them for the price so they said that they would pay half of it and I would have to pay 2500 then I got my car back and having it back. I had it for a month and a half and the engine went out again and this time it is over $3000 because of labor and not only that something else broke on the car too so I have to pay over $5... read more

Business response:

Customer bought vehicle As Is with no warranty. As per the ********* DOT website: "As-Is" means the dealer is not responsible for repairs the car needs later.************ however was generous in helping out the customer in paying half the cost of the engine.

The vehicle I got less than a year ago is already needing a new transmission, the clutches are bad, and all brakes are bad and I feel thw vehicle wasnt properly inspected to begin with and they wont let me trade it for something else because I'll supposedly get bad equity.

Business response:

Thank you for taking a moment to provide feedback for our team. While we understand your frustration, we feel its fair to mention that our dealership has provided multiple options to assist. Were ready and able to move forward with one of these options, but at this time these are the ************ we can provide. If youd like to discuss further, please reach out to me directly at ************. *******************************

The reason for my visit was to have them fix whatever was necessary to have my check engine light stay off. I received a call explaining what repairs were necessary. So after being run around and lied to, the light was finally off. For these reasons, I give this dealership a one-star rating. Needless to say, I won’t be back, and I most certainly do NOT recommend them to anyone else.
