Whatever positive things are written here, none of it is worth it to deal with the management/owner of these buildings. He is always unkind, quick to assume and never listens to your side. We lived here for a short time, and when we moved out he retained over half of our security deposit for baseless reasons. He even made up lies to explain why the security deposit was being retained. We tried to calmly explain and prove our side, but he refused to reason with us or even explain why he thought he was right. He has been sued ... read more
I've lived here going on a year and the landlord is one of the worst I have encountered if you are BLACK I would strongly recommend going else where.
I lived at Uptown Shaker for three years and loved my unit. The apartments themselves are spacious, many have washer/dryer in unit, and the building is clean and well maintained. Maintenance requests were timely responded to. I only moved from Uptown Shaker to be closer to my work. I'd highly recommend Uptown Shaker for tenants seeking a quality property to live in near Van Aken with reasonable prices. EDITED REVIEW: DO NOT LIVE HERE - Landlord never gave me my security deposit back and I have gas bills due to the landlord not responding to the gas company Lived here for a couple years. Good spot over on this side of town. Location to Van Aken is convenient. In unit laundry and the hardwood floors are nice. Never had any bad interactions with management and whenever I made a maintenance request they were always quick to assist. I've had a wonderful time living in Uptown Shaker! It's a very clean and quiet area, Neighbors are all very respectful. I love having on site laundry along with a car garage! Maintenence is quick to reply and I honestly couldn't ask for more.
