I served and retired from the US Army. I have dealt with several VA’s throughout my retirement, It really pains me to say the care I have received from the Bay Pines VA is the most sub-standard care I have ever experienced. I won’t get into the specifics, but very substandard.
I was a patient in the VA in Palo Alto healthcare system for almost 20 years, I moved to Florida recently and this healthcare system is the worst ever. I’m waiting an hour to give blood and still haven’t done so with an appointment, in Northern California you don’t need an appointment to give blood, you just walk in and they take care of you. This place sucks! It’s beyond horrible and dirty!
Outstanding facility and staff. My expectations are always high for any VA facility, and they do a great job at Bay Pines. I say this as a travel RN who has worked at countless hospitals across the USA, and VA is where I choose to go for healthcare. Ignore the whiners and malcontents who are going to complain no matter what.
Had to visit ER. Was treated royally. The staff in ER and the follow up visits were handled terrificly Thank you for your help
Being a veteran of over 40 years I have never been treated with such outright CONTEMPT as I have been at Bay Pines and Sarasota Clinics. We all know the stories so I'll spare you the details. I say fire them all ,give us private insurance and we will all be better off.
