Unprofessional and Obnoxious – As sportsbars go The Valley Tavern, and consequently The Dubliner (same owner, same block), try very hard but fail as places to go see the "big game". The televisions, while plentiful, have the distinction of being roughly ten feet directly above your head, making for a very sore neck after three hours of football. In addition, the view from the seating area another twenty feet away is no better, and from there you will also have to wait a century before the waitress will arrive to take your or... read more

An outdoor patio adds a breath of fresh air to this laid-back Noe Valley pub. – A smoking nook outfitted with stools, counters and a flatscreen sits near the entrance, with an open window to 24th Street that's perfect for people-watching. The interior is classic American tavern--two pool tables, pinball machines, beer signs, plenty of big TVs and a dark wood bar--and the crowd is laid-back twenty- and thirty-somethings and almost strictly local. All the standard beers and spirits are available, and Mexican food from the near... read more

Valley Tavern – When I moved to noe I vowed i would never go out in the suburbanite neighborhood. However the TAvern is really close, its spacious, theres a smoking room, pinball, you can bring in food from the outside and theres a big patio. So it has its benefits. Its deifintely not the usual crowd for the city but its a nice neighborhoody bar and on Sundays they have every football game you could want to see. I have heard people complain about the lack of quick service but I feel its part of the laid-back atmosphere -- th... read more

User review by malderor – I agree with the last reviewer. This used to be a great bar to meet for a quiet drink. Now there are so many televisions that it's like some kind of sensory-overload nightmare. It's okay when there's a Giants game or something, but when there's not a sporting event, would it kill them to turn them off? Do we need 15 screens of infomercials? I think the warm, friendly vibe of this bar has been ruined by covering every spare surface with a television screen.

Valley Tavern Destroyed By Television Onslaught – This used to be our local, but it was bought by the owner of the Dubliner. He raised prices, and installed an obscene number of televisions in what used to be a quiet neighborhood bar. We still stop by occasionally, but the visual and audio din is just about unbearable. Its not really a neighborhood bar, and it doesn't work as a sports bar. Hopefully someone will let the owner know that 15 televisions are just too many.

perfect afternoon/evening spot – Great selection of draught beers. FREE wireless internet! Great big patio in back which is often ALL mine (w/ my friends). Owner is nice Irish guy who loves to talk and is often around. Never bad music. Very relaxed atmosphere and average prices. Staff don't mind if you bring in take-out to have with your beer.

The wireless internet saved my life. – And it is the perfect neighborhood bar as well. Pool, great service, ATM, juke box, etc.

Comfy spot – It has changed from the old days. My friends and I like new big leather booths and pool table. I've never had a an issue with service, in fact I like the laid back vibe they have. The new flat screen TVs are nice to catch the Giants on.

Rude bartenders detract from coolness – This bar has the potential to be awesome. It has a nice, roomy front area, pinball machines, a pool table, good drink selection, and an incredible multi-leveled back patio. Unfortunately, the place suffers from the rude bartenders who haven't changed (in attitude) since it was the Coyote Club. I went into the Valley Tavern with high hopes that the service would be different since the name had changed. I was disappointed. I waited a full 5 minutes for service at an almost empty bar whil... read more
