I took my very anxious little 4 year old dog for his (probably first ever) anal gland expression and the nurse was so calm, gentle, and moved slowly. I was so pleased with how she made it the best possible experience for him. Glands will always be unpleasant and his were very full and likely uncomfortable but the nurse (Kayla?) took care of them while really paying attention and helping him through and helping him learn that he’s safe, even when he needs sort of unpleasant treatments.
Unfortunately, I had to visit VC Veterinary Hospital when my bearded dragon was having a medical emergency. Although this facility does not see exotic animals, they were gracious enough to check my girl for a heartbeat. Upon learning that she had passed, the vet and staff provided me with ample time and patience to say goodbye to my girl and make arrangements for her cremation.
