I’ve been eating here for 23 years. I’ve always loved it. Always. Today I walk in and they have gotten rid of their salad bar. The salad bar was what made Valentino’s Valentino’s. It was a San Marcos staple. Then I was charged four bucks for a side salad. Until your salad bar comes back, this is the last time I️ eat here. Let me know when the “new owners” return to their senses. Byeeeeeee!
I had a large hamburger/mushroom pizza. If you order a large (16") two-topping pizza and a pitcher of beer, it's a $14 deal, which I thought was fair. My pizza was not the best H/M pizza I've ever had but it was good enough. I'm NOT a picky eater and I can't eat ambience. The Shiner Bock pitcher tasted better than Bock usually does, maybe it was my upbeat mood at seeing the Revs again, who of course were excellent, as always. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with kickass live music during the weekdays paired with great food and cheap beer make Valentino's easily the best spot in the square of san mo. The staff are all cool as hell and are equally as efficient (give Brendan a pat on the back). Great service. This place seriously contributes to the culture of San Marcos. Don't change a thing. Well, change one thing. The sauce y'all use seriously has too much sugar. chill with it.
