Great place, great service and great pizza!
The lack of an outside sign (at least none that I could see) makes it hard to find. The renovation of downtown makes it hard to park for old geezers like us. The food was excellent but don't expect any free extras. Drinks are bottled, so no refills, and they are pricey. Our server, Jesse was EXCEPTIONAL. A "Cool" place to eat, but 1 pizza, 1 side salad, 1 side of bread, 2 waters (with no ice), and a final bill (w/tip) of $42 was a bit pricey for 2 people on social security. All in all, we're glad we went.
Vagabond Pizza is a true gem in the heart of Abilene, Texas. We tried the Lucia pizza and the Elote Arancini for an appetizer (covered in Chile Verde, it has the sweetness of the corn and just enough heat from the Verde). And the pizza.... All the pizzas are wood-fired with perfect crusts. The Lucia is drizzled with a sweet/spicy jalapeno jelly. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, beers, and wines they have. Definitely worth a trip.
