Drs going on medical leave can refuse to see a veteran and make them wait SIX MONTHS for an appt. (Dr. was pregnant and going on leave the next day) A nurse can yell out in the waiting room that she doesn't care who the veteran thinks he is, if he is late for an appt he isn't getting seen. The healthcare is good. The mail order pharmacy is great. I'm just concerned that the VA police don't seem to respect the law.
The Rome VA Clinic in Rome, NY provides outstanding medical treatment to 6,000 Veterans in the Rome/Utica area and I'm one of them. So to give back to the VA I'm a Volunteer at this clinic. The Doctors, Nurses and all their staff are very professional and provide outstanding medical care to us vets.
