Was in the local ER, who weren't sure if I had a stroke, heart attack, or detached retina, but sent me home and told me to follow up with my doctor. Doctor declined to see me, set up an opthalmalogy appointment 10 days out. Went to Portland VA ER, was seen and taken care of. I think the biggest issue is the CBOCs that are run by Sterling Medical. They cut corners tighter than the VA itself. I had to call the patient advocate so many times to get things done, I finally just bailed and am now using the Portland VA.
