Going to this medical center has always been a positive experience. For this instance, I had to go to dental for a tooth ache that I had. Turns out that I cracked my tooth and they gave me the option to either extract the tooth today or make an appointment for a later date. I chose the first option and they got things rolling very quickly. At oral surgery, Dr Sabol and Chris explained the entire process about extracting the bad tooth. Let's see... first, the staff in the DOU gave my dad (an elderly patient with a-fib and tachycardia) caffeine and then couldn't figure out why his heart rate was fluctuating (their excuse was that there was nothing in his chart saying he had dietary restrictions... a man with a-fib and tachycardia!!). Then they gave him such a high dose of his heart medication that we wouldn't have been allowed to administer it at home (what is the point of that?!) before switching him to something else. This VA facility as well as other ones that I have to go to have declined in service and in the actual facility itself extremely bad in the last 2 and 1/2 to 3 years. The staff is like a revolving door and the actual facility is not kept well restrooms disgusting, halls and entryways with litter and trash it's just gone down.

If they gave the staff lie detector test, and asked if they care about Vets. They would all fall. Dental is the most unprofessional group of people I’ve ever dealt with. And it’s a shame how they treat senior vets. Drove two hours away to be told the appointment was canceled! How do you sleep?
