We took our 16 year old cat to the UW ER vet last night at 6:30 because he had stopped eating and seemed to be in pain- he was growling when we pet him, which was highly unusual. After asking us some questions they took him in back and said it would be at least 20-30 minutes, and then we sat in the waiting room for 3 hours with no word. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! My dog was enrolled in their canine vaccine study. Several years later he develops lymphoma. My regular vet said that he needed treatment immediately. UW said they could see him in a month. I told them he was diagnosed with Lymphoma and that it was an emergency. Their response was that they would put him at the top of the cancellation list., So IF there was a cancellation, he could maybe have that spot.
