I've been going to Uva for years for my crowns. I went to the emergency department in January of 2024 for problems with my crohns and covid. I was introduced to Dr. Schrimer, who was on call that day. They decided I needed surgery. He performed my surgery and I ended up with 2 fistula 's in my abdomen. Stool was coming out my abdomen and my ileostomy. He then performed a second one you try to fix his mistake. Didn't work. Left my abdomen open. The pain was unbearable. If UVA didn't have an illegal monopoly on healthcare in the area their terrible care would destroy them. Fourth trip to a UVA ER with complications due to a surgery from UVA. 9 hours in the waiting room later my friend with cancer just told them to remove the IV and forget about it. It's sad.

I was admitted on Wednesday. I am so throughly impressed by the care I have received. There was some miscommunication from the residents but the attending, Dr Hill, was extremely apologetic and made sure I was taken care of with clear instructions. My nurses Vonda and Joselyn are two of the most skilled and caring nurses I’ve ever met. I feel so cared for and in good hands. I have had an amazing experience here and am happy to say I very much recommend UVA.
My Fiance had to have Mastectomy here , They sent her home with only 5mg Oxycodone only 40 hours worth , just 1 n half days of pain med for removing her breast , ive tried calling the number they gave us to reach a surgical resident but all my calls have been ignored and not returned , They expect her to suffer through this and its complete b.s !
