I have had an undiagnosed health condition since the summer and was sent here after being dismissed by Carilion Rheumatology. My rheumatologist here (at UVA) was very kind and receptive. He figured out what conditions I have in one appointment plus labs. Dr. Adkins is very knowledgeable and didn’t dismiss me at all. (I am 22 with health conditions, so I have been dismissed by others.) I highly recommend Dr. Adkins!!
I have severe psoriatic arthritis. When Dr. Leyva left this practice, they assigned me to a new provider who has no experience with psoriatic arthritis. I then asked to transfer to Dr. Carlson, who is a renowned expert in psoriasis. Logan at the front desk said: "Unfortunately, we do not offer transfer of care services within UVA." Um, what? Nobody's allowed to transfer doctors at UVA? That's not right, it's just a straight up lie. Stay away from these people, they don't care at all.
I've been extremely sick with GCA Vasculitis for a year an a half. The care I am receiving is top notch.
I have been going to this clinic for about 6 years with dr Lewis being my main doctor! She is very patient and attentive… I have always had good luck with the residents especially dr king who I feel has been one of the best doctors I have ever seen! Anybody who has an autoimmune disease has most likely been sent to dr after dr before finally getting a correct diagnosis… I’ve read some of the other reviews and all I can say is ask to switch doctors. If you are lucky enough to get Lewis and dr kingvtogether then you have a win... read more
