Made an appt at 7:30am for 9am appt slot, suspecting one of my kids had strep. Got to the office a couple of minutes before 9am to check in and had to give her my insurance card that I had already uploaded via MyChart. Didn’t get called back until 9:15 even though 9am is the first appt of the day. The nurse did vitals and did the preliminary questions & strep test and then we waited until 9:45am to be seen for for our 9am appt. I've always took my kids to this place and everytime they have been really nice and listened to me. This time i took both my kids one of the nurses was asking questions i was answering and she was really rude telling me my kids had no fever.. annoyed she went and got another nurse instead.. when the doctor came and checked my kids she looked really annoyed. She said they both had an ear infection but yesterday i noticed blisters in their mouth.. horrible service never taking my kids their again..
For an urgent care it is crazy saying that I need a referral and claiming that it is because they bill as a primary care and that is why they need a referral; and the only reason they have the “urgent care” designation is because they have extended hours. That is not Urgent care that is a clinic that has after hours care. This is not the first issue that I had with this clinic but it will definitely be the last. Avoid this place at all cost and go somewhere else outside of UTMB if you need care.
100% severely unsatisfied with the visit for my 2 year old with pink eye. I expect health professionals especially pediatric ones to be kind and caring enough to ask questions about my child and how he’s doing what other symptoms he has, not JUST how long he’s had pink eye. Dr. Erica Palafox-Chua walked in took one look at my son and stated exactly what we had came in for asked no further questions other than how long he’s had it.
