Incompetent. I wish I had read these reviews before booking an appointment to establish primary care after moving to Galveston. The meeting with the MD took less than 10 minutes. He didn't even ask to transfer my records. He never contacted me when my test results came in. I just assumed everything was fine. Then, I called to renew my prescription written by my previous PCP, and was told everything was all set. I will rate this Surgery Center “0”! Horrible Services with poor communication within the healthcare Team. I was scheduled for a procedure. The Coordinator called that week on the prep procedure and was clear the procedure is the following. On that day, I am not on the schedule! They made a way to see me only to be told that they can’t do it until after I complete my heart procedure and will Be rescheduled for the following week . DO NOT TAKE YOUR INFANT HERE! I scheduled a sick visit for my 6 month old because he was super congested, was hardly eating and was having trouble breathing. They did not test him for anything and said it was just a cold and to use a humidifier at night and it would help. That night it took a turn for the worse. He had a fever, refused to eat at all, stopped having wet diapers, and trouble breathing. I called the clinic again to ask what we should do and they said to bring him in. This hospital and the staff are so awesome. I was in this hospital over three weeks. Due to an unexpected infection. They took excellent care of me, the nurses and teams were so kind and understanding, being that I had to stay longer than we all expected. I was there on my birthday, and they put a few door decorations to give me some birthday cheer. ✨FINAL update of my journey of the healing of my knee injury✨ I am a walking miracle. I thank God for my surgeon Dr Iero who prayed and used his talent to surgically put my right knee back together and the nurses that helped me when I stayed overnight in the hospital at St Joseph Hospital. When I wheeled into PT in a wheelchair and I was nonweight bearing and everything was new and scary and uncertain. Very disappointed based on reputation and expectations. Over 36 hours ago my brother was transferred to Jennie Sealy from a smaller UTMB hospital for an MRI. Still waiting for the MRI. The frustrating part is they were going to do it after arrival, then they were going to do it yesterday by 5pm... Still waiting. MRI availability and patient communication seems to be an issue.
Even with computer systems, right hand didn't communicate with the left. They would tell you 10 minutes which meant 60. Should have been in and out for minor problem. Took 4 hours. Staff was polite though.
Review on DR Peter Edemekong . I gave 1 star because that is the lowest that is available. First let me start with office visit . He doesn't communicate with patience he speaks to interns then i have to ask intern question about my health . Dr. Edemekong is to busy with his laptop to Lookup at me or answer my questions . I have serve pain so i called the ER they are not seeing patience because of corona virus . Don't go here. I waited for more than an hour in the exam room without anyone coming in to check on me or to let me know when I would be helped. After I walked out into the hall and let them know that I was leaving if I wasn't going to be seen, then a nurse practitioner came and rushed through my exam. She didn't listen to hardly anything I was saying. Total exam didn't last more than 5 minutes. I was charged 274.00 dollars for 5 minutes of rudeness.
