If I could leave a 0 star, I would. I left 2 stars bc the nurse Katy Bell, was the most understanding, kind, calming and thoughtful nurse we’ve come across in our 8 years of dedication to UTMB. We will be changing to Methodist bc (other than Katy) patient care is horrendous. I wouldn’t suggest UTMB to anyone who has insurance and expects the dr. To listen/care.
I had a really great experience here despite the 3.7 rating. Came from mont belvieu to see Dr. Chanthu Pillai and he was pleasant, great at explaining everything and very patient considering my ignorance with our situation and all my questions. Staff at the front was nice....i didn't have any issues whatsoever. Lady who drew blood waswas super attentive and patient even when my stepson started showing signs he was fixing to have an episode or meltdown over blood being drawn. I wasn't going to say anything, but I have met the sweetest, better caring staff at our different utmb pediatric locations. This location is not it. The front desk woman on the left side of the office was so rude and apathetic. I called in to say I was running a little late due to an emergency. I cam not even 15 mins late to my 1 o'clock appointment on 8/30 with my 7 month old because she had been sick for over 2 weeks. Cannot get a doctor.instead I have a primary nurse.
The service at UTMB’s front desk, specifically from Ms. Salazar, is very disappointing. She is very rude when dealing with patients and, even worse, when non-English speakers come in, instead of finding help or someone to assist them, she just stares at them disrespectfully. This is not only unprofessional but also insensitive to those in need of support. The customer service at this place definitely needs improvement.
