Tries to charge my insurance $4,000-$6,000 just for a cardio check up. Costing me $600 in copay. They don't care about their patients, only care about price gouging people with insurance to pay for those who don't have it. EDIT: Switched cardiologist and was told I didn't have to pay copay with them because I already met my deductible. Where does UTMB get $600 from? Next I'll be switching primary care doctors for my family too. Goodbye UTMB, nothing but crooked health care.
My son was seen by Dr. Aly Ashraf in Cardiology at four months old to determine whether or not he had the same heart condition (PFO) my doctors thought I had. My son checked out fine. I also take him to his pediatrician at this same location. The staff and Drs are super friendly and thorough. My son and I and now my husband have all been treated at UTMB and we couldn't be more pleased with our experiences.
Horrible, horrible service here. I paid almost $400 for a cardiologist visit, was told that this is my coinsurance portion for the visit, EKG and echocardiogram. I should have educated myself on my benefits because after leaving I called BCBS and checked and I should have only paid a $30 copay.and other services were covered under that copay. They are now refusing to refund me any amount, even though all my daughter had done was an EKG and a 10 minute chat with the Dr. NO echocardiogram was done. Steer clear of this office, ... read more
