Meters need updates and the company allegedly tries to make the user pay for the new meter when MN law mandates this is something the utility company needs to pay for. No bill in over a year from UMS. Still no bill since new owners took over. Then a letter from new management saying I owe 2400. No I don't. I communicated with you on my hardship. Said I could make payment arrangement for 6 months is the most they could do or get energy assistance. I got help but they paid Xcel and said they aren't familiar with you. I’m 18 and living on my own for the first time. Like my other bills, I paid my water bill via money order through Walmart. When I received my second bill, I was charged a late fee plus the total for both months, even though the money had already left my account and obviously went somewhere.
