I am an EI SLP who referred a client (a family with a non-speaking autistic toddler) to Mike and I’m so happy that I did! He helped the family choose the perfect device for their individual child and provided knowledge & support throughout the process. It has only been a couple of weeks with the device and I’m blown away with the language progress that had been made and the skills the toddler has demonstrated on the device.
Use Your Words was an excellent experience for our son Daniel. As a non verbal young man with Autism, communication is a lifelong challenge. Mike was able to match Danny with a device and program custom for him, but more than that, was able to teach not only Danny, but his father and I how to use the communicator. It has made a real difference in his life. He now has his own words! We are so grateful to Mike for his technical and clinical expertise.
This thanksgiving I started thinking of those things I truly am thankful for and two things related to my daughter with severe autism and apraxia that are at the top of that list are her current private therapists and her voice. Mike Cole of Use Your Words, has been a blessing to my daughter and our family. My daughter has cerebral palsy and is an adult nonverbal user of a communication device. We selected Mike to provide speech therapy services because of his extensive experience with AAC devices. He did not disappoint! It is not easy to find speech therapists with his level of expertise with this population. We would highly recommend him as a service provider for child or adult who is in need of this type of service.
