Hey, I applied for my Social Security 6 times at the Shelby office, and every single time I had the same woman at Window A (the Black woman). She was rude every time. I later found out from the Gastonia office that she never properly processed my paperwork. Out of all 6 visits, she only processed it twice, and both times I received a letter saying they couldn’t process my application and that I had to come back again. Very disappointing experience with the Shelby Social Security office. We went there multiple times to get my cousin’s Social Security number, and every time we were told everything was taken care of and that the card would arrive. But it never did. We even received a letter telling us to come to the office without an appointment. We followed the letter and went there, but when we arrived, they told us we couldn’t be helped without an appointment. My case for ssi is being mishandled and I need a lawyer. They almost never answer phone calls. And still won't send me a detailed letter explaining why I was denied. Absolutely terrible communication.
