Awful that disabled people are held to the same 120-day limit to move or lose a Housing Choice Voucher (HCV). We have needs beyond the typical tenant so finding a suitable option can take a lot longer. A single parent with no disabilities has many more options than someone who has physical limitations. How is having the same time limit fair? You can get an HCV & risk losing it because inventory is lacking & you have a whole list of needs. Average person can handle a step or two where they live. HUD has failed tenants like me. HUD is supposed to protect families from unsafe housing, corruption, and neglect, but when I came forward with serious complaints about Springfield Housing Authority, HUD did nothing.
