The best way I can describe being a patient at 2 MDG is being a blind-man forced to walk on a treadmill made out of Lego. Any attempt to get care is a 90+ day wait and the staff on the phone act like they would rather do anything else than help you receive care. It seems the goal of the MDG is to replace in person visits with instant messages on MHS genesis. If you can avoid interacting with the Medical Group in person or on the phone I recommend it.
Was on hold to make an appointment for over an hour. Sat at caller number 1 for over 30 minutes. By the time 4pm came around they gave me the message that I had reached them outside of their appointment hours. All they care about on Fridays is going home early.
I haven't had any issues with the appointment line and I love Nikki. She knows me now because I am always having to call in. After 13 years in the military health care system , I think you just need to know what to expect and to be patient and kind as they only have so much to work with, and it is definitely not a fancy civilian facility. It may take a while to get an appt, but the doctors take time to seriously listen to you here. At my previous base, my health felt like an inconvenience. Here, I am finally be listened to and getting treatment for things I didnt even know I had, from results that never got looked into before. Takes forever to be seen, but the wait is worth it for the attention and care I have received. I feel like I might actually get treated for my issues.
