Having a child who cannot communicate and has severe autism, going to the doctors in general can be the most dreadful experience for your child and the parent. I just want to say that my husband and I have had to visit Minocqua Urgent Care several times and have been very happy and impressed with the care we have received every time. They have several PAs on staff and they are excellent providers. I might add they were billed as Urgent Care not Emergency and we had to pay our $20 office visit copay not emergency copay.

This summer I visited the Urgent Care at the clinic. It was once known as the "walk in" prior to someone figuring that the term "urgent care" sounded more expensive. Some days prior, a small insect had lost its way and some of it remained in my ear canal. I have had earwax removed with water and syringe, and at the Urgent Care the procedure to remove this object was exactly the same. The bill in total...almost $1200.00! Visited Urgent Care in August of 2025. Asked if I'm only going to be in urgent care, NOT anything related to the ER, and was told yes only urgent care. Got a bill for both an Urgent Care visit and the Emergency Room. Never got admitted to the ER. They took an x-ray with a wheeled in machine, and apparently that is what triggered the ER. I was never admitted to the ER, yet they are trying to charge me for an ER visit.
