We often shop at the Shoppers Drug Mart store which is right next door to Urban Grocer, so we decided to stop in on July 17, 2026, to take a look at the groceries that Urban Grocer offers. We were not impressed. The prices seem higher than at other competing grocery stores. The Longview Farms strawberries looked off and didn't look appealing. They looked "sickly." This is by far one of the best grocery stores I've shopped at. They always have an excellent selection of fresh produce, and the store is always clean and well-stocked. What really sets this store apart, though, is the staff. A special shoutout to Jill, who is consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely goes above and beyond to help. Love this store and supporting local. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Was disappointed to find when I was shopping this Sunday that the 10% off store wide doesn’t apply to butter (signage says milk and eggs excluded, but not butter) and wish there was more clarity about excluded items!

I really love this place. It's local and independent, yet seems to have fairly competitive prices, some really good sale items, and friendly, helpful staff. The quality of their produce is really good as well.
