Poor quality for 2016 Gear-Up I paid ~$17,500 out the door with some mods. Thought would be an improvement from my 2008 Patrol. Paint peels off from frame in strips, fuel light doesn't work, alternator coupling leaking motor oil at 6200 km, crankshaft bearing failure at 6500 km in middle of Canada 700km from home requiring getting UHaul to bring home, electrical start piece failing three times, and final drive spewing out oil out of vent regardless of how many times I have measured out and put in the exact oil. I live in Tucson and have a 2010 Patrol, bought new. Not quite 30,000km but most are road miles. Sturgis, Death Valley, week end camping trips to northern Arizona. I had a BMW airhead for years but was no longer comfortable with my balance on two wheels. The Ural was stiff the first 10,000km, raking gear shifting, etc. .. after that it smoothed out and ran stronger. The maintenance is easier to do than on my old BMW.
