Uptowner was started by the 19th-century German entrepreneur Joseph Schlitz, famous for his bars and breweries. Dating back to 1884, it is one of Milwaukee's oldest operating bars and has even survived the Prohibition Era during which it morphed into a pharmacy. Today, it is best known as a corner bar with a plethora of entertainment: groovy live music, DJ and open mic nights, karaoke sessions and festive celebrations. I didn't have food nor drink, but if you want a regular ole Reagel Beagle feel type bar, The Uptowner is your place..just wish they had parking lot
