I’ve had to do physical therapy off and on over the years for a low back issue but my experience with Ted at Ortho-Manual Physical Therapy Institute Uptown is on a whole other level. He is not following some computer generated plan or checking boxes off a list. My sessions are customized to me individually and he adjusts it based on where I’m at physically with each visit whenever needed. Typical churning patients in and out of clinic with no personalization and PT actively refused to follow the drs script for treating the entire spine. Instead he defended only being able to successfully treat one area (eg. Neck) at a time. To treat the neck without treating lumbar that is also presenting symptomatically and as directed by a physician is not patient- centered care. Seemed to think a lot of himself though and enjoyed talking down to me.

Ted Kern and his team make you feel like family! They’re very committed to my recovery and have helped guide and support me every step of the way post ACL surgery. They’ve helped minimize the pain and set me on the right track to regain mobility. I have greatly appreciated the flexibility in scheduling - I am always able to get my preferred time. I have also appreciated the care, kindness, professionalism, and respect as I’ve continued on my physical therapy journey. Dare I say… I look forward to physical therapy!
