I waited for over 3 years for an organization like Upstream to give my son a social life and purpose to his life. It has been a life altering experience for him and a BIG sense of relief for myself as I live across the country and I’m not able to see him often. When it comes to mental health, anyone in the thick of it knows how hard it can be to get the right help. The services offered at Upstream are tailored and helpful for getting back on your feet when you have little access to resources. I would not call them a treatment facility, they are an important community tool that allows an individual to gain connections to build a healthy life.
Tired of fighting for services badly needed....yet another organization that never answers the phone and could not care less. These services are impossible to access in this town it seems....no wonder funding is so quickly cut off....I am another classic text book example of someone falling through the cracks...pathetic.
