I am writing after 1 month & 1 week since Austin and crew started. I say this because they still haven’t finished the 1day, no mess service. There wasn’t one thing said that came true. All falsehoods from the 1 day, no mess to even his name…which is Lonnie not Austin. I got an estimate for me and my neighbor to remove my neighbors large tree and 3 of my small trees. Upstate Tree Service/ Contractors NY and its owner Austin provided perhaps the worst performance and customer service I have ever experienced. If you think you are getting a flat, clean, undamaged lawn after your tree is removed, you are not. Be wary of the claim the stump grindings will ‘fill the hole’. Be prepared to deal with a huge pile of heavy debris and numerous holes in your lawn—and maybe even a damaged fence. Austin is a Jekyll and Hyde. 03/02/2021: Job incomplete and yard a mess. Initially, Austin was very responsive and came by to give us an estimate pretty quickly. He was very friendly on the phone. We were interested in getting multiple trees cut down and stumps either removed or ground out. Austin suggested grinding the stumps would make the most sense for our needs. A couple days later, Lonnie called to offer us a deal since they had another job in the area. I had them come over for an emergency tree removal. They were quick to respond, got the tree down quickly, cleaned up the yard better than it was before and the crew were the nicest guys! I have no complaints what so ever. I would call them again if needed.

I don't know why there are bad reviews for this company. My neighbor & I had 6 large oak trees cut down between our houses & they did a FANTASTIC job! Brought large plywood sheets to put under the truck wheels to protect our driveways, had a wonderful crew who knew exactly what they were doing, even in close quarters, cleaned up the yards & driveways afterwards so there weren't even any tiny branches left anywhere, & came back 2 days later, as promised, to grind the stumps down. This is the worst business I have ever dealt with! Had a tree removed in May 2019 and paid in full. Well after the tree was removed, I noticed the stump and roots were not completely grinded. I let Austin D**** know this and he said he would have the job completed. Well it is now September 2019 and it still has not been done!!! After several empty promises, ignored text messages, ignored voice mails and phone calls, I finally had to hire another company to finish his poor job. Absolutely horrible customer service. Won't finish the job, won't return my voice mails or texts, won't answer phone. All this after I already paid him $1300!!!! Wish I never hired them in the first place!
