They have the best scones and coffee! The atmosphere is fantastic!
We were looking for something for a light lunch on Venice Avenue downtown and found the Upper Crust. The menu was more reasonably priced than most we had seen along there. I tried the Reuben sandwich and my wife, who is from England, had sweet potato fries and a blueberry scone with clotted cream. You never know what you're going to get with a Reuben but I was pleasantly surprised. It was really excellent, very flavorful and maybe the best I've ever had. This is an unassuming coffee shop on the main street in downtown Venice. The sign on the door is so small it's easy to miss. The aisle at the entrance to the store is so narrow that it is difficult for two people to fit in. The freshly baked snacks look very tempting. The breakfast and coffee were nothing special, but if you are not very picky, this is a convenient and quick breakfast place.
