GO TO PITTSBURGH! AVOID THIS FACILITY. I cannot NOT recommend this enough. This is where people go for surgery and leave with a worse prognosis than prior to surgery. The Med Surg floor is CRIMINALLY CRUEL. They blatantly ignore patients other illnesses while you are recovering. Including Parkinson's and Prostate Swelling. Them ignoring these caused such extreme measures to be taken to fix what they ignored. The 6th floor is exceptionally unprofessional. I just cannot say to avoid this place enough.
I had to come alone. No one allowed to wait with me. They took my husband back at 7am i was not permitted to sit with him at all pre op. He was in until 2pm. I did not see him until 2pm!!!! No updates none i could only follow him on a tv screen. Only when I complained at desk I was taken back finally! The doctor did not even see me post op he used a cell phone!!!!!! While I deeply respect Dr. Mansuria and his surgical team, I can’t stay silent about the post-op care I received at this hospital. It was, without a doubt, the worst post op experience I’ve ever had. After a significant surgery, I woke up in pain, vulnerable, and desperately needing help.. But the nurses around me were completely disengaged.
