I am always very hesitant on hospital experiences. Mainly bc my first delivery was a c section and traumatic for me. This was my third baby and overall my experience was good. My labor and delivery team was awesome. They made the experience the best. I had Maddie (midwife) and Portia as my labor and delivery nurse. This duo was awesome. Both were amazing. I can’t express how grateful I am to UPMC. My entire pregnancy was filled with sickness, and the staff here went above and beyond to support me with genuine care and empathy. During my three days of labor and my five-day stay, I felt like I was surrounded by family. Every nurse midwife (each are godsend) and doctor treated me with such kindness, making a difficult time so much easier. I gave vaginal birth , 03/28/24. The team is honestly amazing. Wellspan discharged me saying I wasn’t in labor , boyfriends sister brought me in 50 minutes later to UPMC hospital , staff in the emergency room was FAST to get me upstairs , staff was quick in labor and delivery to check my cervix and get me a room. 5cm I got the epidural. I was due for a C-section on 12/8 and ended up going into labor on 11/30. The entire L&D team welcomed me with a calm, organized and positive attitude. My procedure was smooth and I was comforted and informed the entire time. I can’t believe how well we have been taken care of during our stay, both medically and personally. I have recovered well and learned so much because of the team of nurses and doctors who have cared for me and my baby so diligently.
