36 years ago today my hubby and I met at the Up with People concert at Henderson State in Arkadelphia Arkansas We love Up with People!'!!'
Wednesday, February 17th we were so blessed and honored to have some of the "Up With People" crew come to our home, Prairie Hills at Des Moines Assisted Living to perform for our staff and residents. The group of young people that we were lucky enough to get to meet came to us from various places such as Belgium, Sweden, Texas, Colorado and Ohio. WOW!! We all loved the performance. This organization has changed our entire family! My daughter is traveling currently and our whole family has reaped amazing benefits. I've had the chance to get to know several cast members and every one of them has been amazing. This group of "kids" are truly changing the world!! If you haven't seen a show and they are coming to your area, GET TO A SHOW!!! And please... become a host family. My family hosted several times when I was young. It was an incredible experience every time!

I grew up listening to a UWP album of their television special, broacast in the late 60's. Finally got to see them live (repeatedly) at Expo 74; what a great performance! Now, I play MY (digitized) copy of that same 60's album for my kids. So much positivity & energy! We all like the original versions of the songs, with so much conviction, it can bring you to tears. Thanks for still being around.
