This is the first year our company has worked with UNUM, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. Payments are frequently delayed, and there have been instances where benefit calculations appear to be inaccurate. In addition, the company repeatedly requests additional information, which only prolongs the process and delays payments even further. The one star is for the rep who finally got my claim specialist to return a call back to me. I was on leave and have already returned back to work, but still no payment or approval of my claim that was filed weeks ago. The length of time it takes to approve a claim is absolutely ridiculous! It’s difficult to get a return call and every time they request a document it takes up to 5 business days for that document to be reviewed and you better believe they will go all 5 days before you get any answers or movement on the claim.... read more

Y'all struggling financially?? Called to cancel three times and got hung up on three times. I don’t even work enough hours to qualify for this benefit anymore, but apparently that just makes me more fun to bill. I’ve emailed, called, filled out surveys, and even sent a DM on Instagram. Silent treatment since November 5th, It’s now November 26th, and instead of help I’ve been charged again.
