I went here for years, but before a May 2024 appointment I was called and told I was no longer in-network as of February 2024 and that I had a “past due bill.” I had not been mailed any copies of the bill. I had not had any phone calls about this bill. I was unaware I owed any money and baffled because the bill was from November 2023, when I was in-network and should have been covered by my UNM dental insurance. Worst dental office! They used to have a great dentist, but she is no longer there. This place is a mess. Disorganized. Slow. I feel like we are the guinea pigs for the student dentists. No one has a clue what the other person is doing. The financial process is a mess. No one is nice and no one appears to like their job. Am a UNM student and live in the area. I desperately need a periodontic 30 day followup treatment. The first treatment that I had on 2nd was wonderful but I'm not able to follow up due to office management interference. However the root of the issue still exist and spreading on my face.
At Comfort Dental, they belittled me. Valer dental wouldn't take my insurance. UNM treated me like a human, Dr. Rodriguez fixed my cracked filling, and came up with an entire treatment plan. I had my teeth cleaned which Valer dental said couldn't be done without an expensive gum therapy. Dr. Hitchens took over my treatment plan and is wonderful.
