worst Hospital ever not only do I have a brain tumor on my brain stem the neuro Department really called me yesterday and dumped me as a patient over the phone how pathetic immature and also said he won't order me MRIs or help me at all anymore this Hospital it's an absolute joke don't go there for school or don't allow your children to go there for school

My wife reached out to the grief counceling program and left multiply voicemail last week. We recently had a very traumatic experience as we found our 21 year old nephew had taken his life, my wife and I finding his body which had been lifeless and decaying 4 days. It wasn't a pretty picture but I'm trying to paint this image in your head as it was very traumatic. If I knew how to reach out to the CEO of UNM she would be receiving this message. As soon as they find out you're not a cash cow, boom out on your ear. Without a complete and proper diagnosis. Staff could care less.
Nice staff in labor & delivery and in the mother baby unit. DO NOT recommend if you are single parent, they have a strict mother/father only policy for the baby units even if you have a “band”.

My mom was a patient here for 2 weeks. Among the numerous other things they did wrong (sitting in the ER for hours and hours before getting an ICU bed, consenting for surgery without cognitive ability, no updates from the doctors, rude nurses, no visitors due to covid DESPITE a terminal illness (also no option to FaceTime) lies about insurance covering at home rehab, etc.) The heart wrenching part of it for me was that when she came home she blatantly had bad care. I delivered my first daughter here four months ago in January and the only good thing I have to say about this place is the delivery team. They were calm, kind, and supportive. As for everyone else in the hospital.... first off the anesthesiologist couldnt do anything right. He tried putting some sort of tube into my wrist and kept missing the vein and there was blood everywhere, not to mention it was painful. Then he didnt even put the epidural drip line in right. RecommendedEverything about this hospital is great my wife and I get all of our check up with the UNMH clinics and we've never had any problems in fact all of the hospital staff doctors and nurses are extremely polite and caring . We had a tragic moment at one time and they saved my wife and I greatly am thankful for that .
