It’s takes a year to get into the clinic and they are good in person however they seem to be pretty incompetent when it comes to filling prescriptions for schools. I have been going back and fourth with them to get a script written properly so the school will take it. It’s been two weeks and they have sent in the prescription three times wrong. I have called them several times and sent them the information on what exactly the school needs and they still can’t seem through figure it out.
They will tell you all the services that your child needs and of course they only want to provide referrals for UVA clinics/doctors. So you’ll wait months and months, losing precious time, only to find out they refuse to see you because of your zip code. We were rejected because we live in Waynesboro (25 minutes away), even though they’ll accept patients all the way from ROCKINGHAM (over an hour away). Which makes NO sense. My child was put on the waitlist at age 3, 17 months ago. I was told it could be a few months. Every 3 months I would call and check on the referral, and would get a different answer for how long we would be waiting. Fast forward to now and we get a phone call from our pediatrician that the referral was rejected because they are no longer taking 5 year olds. She just turned 5 last week! My child was initially referred 6 months ago and when I called to confirm that they had everything they needed they confirmed that they did, that he was on the wait list and that we would hear from them in about 8 months. I called today just to see where he was on the wait list. They told me they never received the info they needed so they took him OFF of the wait-list.
