I'm only giving three because my nurses and physical therapy people were so wonderful. I had to have surgery 9 years ago because i had precancerous polyps in my large intestine so my surgeon Dr Byrne made me a j pouch to act as a colon to hold my stool and i was using an ostomy for 3 months. He did a crappy job with my stoma now years later thinking it would be a better outcome now that the ostomy is permanent. Do not expect the hospital staff to notify you when your loved one is out of surgery, you will need to constantly to the desk and inquire while several staff members do nothing!
The University of Michigan hospital is a awful at communications. Through the worst portal in the United States to good communications with doctors. There website and those who work there have bad communications and in that field is also bad.
