Went to the ER with horrific-worst-of-my-life pain. Every caregiver I met showed compassion and that made me feel seen/heard. Somehow knowing that they could see the intensity of my pain helped me endure it until they administered meds. Sincerity, concern for others, and kindness contributed to my healing.
