YES, I had a liver transplant there seven years ago and without their help and care I would have died and not be posting this now.
Do not go here if you have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tacycardia Syndrome). They do not believe in infusions or port placements to help POTS patients. They also did not help me and did not know what they were doing with all the medications trails. I ended up almost dying for the medications they put me on. By far the most phenomenal staff and facilities. My mom was transferred to UofIHC after suffering a stroke. The staff in SNICU gave her personalized around the clock care and were always willing to answer questions and make sure my entire family was comfortable. Big thanks to Amazing Grace and Seth, 2 of her nurses that went above and beyond their duties to get her on the road to recovery. Thank you again to all involved!!!
it's a great hospital with good care long waiting time but good care
The care, the kindness, personable staff, ranging from surgeons to nursing assistants and dietary too. These consistent qualities were constant.
love this hospital. they have been wonderful and have met the needs of both my children
Seriously U of I this is ridiculous- waiting in the ER for over 6 hours after we were told to come here by your doctors. I have had more bad experiences here then any other hospital I’ve ever been to. Get more staff if that’s the issue or add more beds because I can sure tell you if I had another choice I would absolutely NOT be at this hospital. Edit- We left U of I ER after 7.5 hours and drove straight to Mercy and we were in a room within 10 minutes.
Have been sitting in the ER today with my mom for over 5 hours now along with many others who have been here longer. While the staff has bee unfailingly helpful, there is still no end in sight for when my frail 83 year old mother might get into a room. she alternates between lying on a waiting room couch wincing and wringing her hands to crying because she's in so much pain. The nurses gave her a single dose of Tylenol some hours ago and despite my request that they reevaluate her for needing more pain meds now, she just sit... read more
