I am alive today due to the incredible expertise of this entire team, the donor's families, the donors who agreed to be organ donors prior to their passing, and the love and sacrifice of my incredible wife. I was near death when I was sent to Anschutz. Received a heart and kidney. Now doing great! This is the place to go for your transplant evaluation.

The transplant committee and pre transplant coordinator I had kept giving me different hoops to jump through. The coordinator kept saying I was going before the committee to be approved and then she would come back with something that left me feeling misinformed. She really dropped the ball with my case and made mistakes. This is distressing when you are a young person with a baby sitting and waiting while on dialysis. From the outset, communication regarding my mother's transplant was deeply concerning. We were initially told she needed a full transplant, then weeks later, a partial one was scheduled. This led to a stressful 900-mile round trip from Albuquerque, only to have Mom admitted to the ER upon arrival due to new health concerns.
