I had to check in four different places before getting to my appointment
Even though I was there for a painful procedure the staff was awesome to me and my wife, who stayed with me the whole time. It could have been a lot worse and I still would have given good reviews. The fact is is that every person that we met at the hospital was extraordinarily nice respectful and professional. I only wish that the next time I need to be hospitalized it would be at a place such as University Hospital. The experience was just simply awesome.
I cannot begin to express the atrocity in the level of substandard care my mother received while at this hospital. Had I have known the reputation and seen the reviews I would have requested her to be taken somewhere else. I was appalled at the careless acts of the staff, complete lack of disregard for policy and procedure, and complete lack of empathy. I came to UMC ER seeking treatment for a dislocated thumb and what turned out to be two small fractures. From initial check in to check out was extremely efficient and the care I received was excellent. The nurses, hospital paramedic, x-ray tech, and residents were amazing. The nurse, Katrina, went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable as she administered an IV to me. Her calming and kind manner were very reassuring.
