University Medical Center ER: Pros: Very good - Level 1 Trauma Center nurses & staff are very experienced It's a Teaching hospital - Excellent docs followed around by med students, so everything is explained well to the patient. Cons: Being a trauma center, if you're there for something less traumatic than a heart attack, stroke, severe accident or the like, you are a low priority. My experience was terrible. I went there because of chest pain, which thankfully turned out to be nothing serious, but I had to wait 8 hours for blood tests and X-rays, and then wait for the results. The staff just kept telling me to be patient because they were busy, but you're supposed to go there for an "emergency," which is ridiculous. Besides, the area is too small and smells awful. So please, don't go to this place if you're feeling really sick; look for other options.

Extremely long wait times and the staff doesn't listen to you. They think they are god or something. Won't even allow a glass of water
