I just had surgery at UVA hospital.I hadn't use the bathroom but my PCT nurse Taylor Walton made me feel so comfortable after I used the bathroom.when I say she went above and beyond to make me feel wonderful after feeling guilty. Highy recommended her.Thank you for your service
The fact that this hospital keeps expanding to fit and care for more patients but never takes into account the parking is ridiculous. Staff already have nowhere to park and once the expansion is completed, there will be more positions to fill. The Lee and 11th street garage are already full on a daily basis and there will be even more patients once the expansion is completed. Yet again it's profit over people. My mother fell at work after experiencing a dizzy spell. My sister thankfully was able to take her to the ER while I drove down from NOVA, but in the 4 hours it took from her getting checked in and me getting there, all that was done was that they checked her blood pressure. We sat for another 2 hours and they finally rolled her back for a CT scan and we asked, "Listen, it's been 6 hours at this point. Can she get a bed? What are we doing here?" My husband was helicoptered here after suffering a GSW to the head. Unfortunately there was no surgery that could be done to save him as his brain stem was affected, but the doctors and nurses I encountered were the kindest people. They treated him with the upmost of care, respect, and dignity. The female neurosurgeon doctor, and his nurse whose name I wish I could remember were kind, compassionate, and I could truly tell the amount of care they had for their patients.
