Be sure you can advocate for yourself. If something feels wrong, stand on it. I had four wisdom teeth removed, they said I was fine after saying I was in pain, then discovered a sinus perforation. Two surgeries later, I'm still in pain, they say I'm fine, discharge me from care. Go somewhere else if you can, but they're definitely over run and doing their best. I can easily see how I was missed, but I was still missed.
I have been waiting for over 6 months just for them to send in my request to insurance for surgery! After several follow ups I haven’t gotten anywhere and am dreading the consequences of their lack of effort
I had my wisdom teeth removed today and I am genuinely so grateful for the care I received. The nurse and the resident oral surgeon were incredibly kind, patient, and gentle every step of the way. They noticed when I was nervous, spoke to me reassuringly, and made me feel safe throughout the entire procedure. At one point the surgeon even wiped a tear from my cheek — something small, but it showed how attentive and compassionate he was.
