I am very disheartened to leave this complaint as I had hoped to solve this issue within Pediatric Psychiatry. The purpose of the appointment was to get my child a complete Neuropsychological Test, including testing for ADOS autism. My child was previously diagnosed with ODD and neuro-unspecified from a previous test at another facility. My son met with Dr. Kristin Rosseau, whom from the start really wasn't listening and appeared to be following a script. I came to UChicago Psychiatry hoping for support and understanding, but instead I felt dismissed and invalidated. The provider minimized my concerns and left me feeling worse than when I walked in. For such a highly regarded institution, I expected compassion and thoroughness, but what I experienced was judgment and a lack of real help. If you’re looking for a place that truly listens and takes your struggles seriously, I would look elsewhere.
