I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the salon refunded or waived charges when issues were raised. On my first visit, Cindy did my nails; there was a misunderstanding about the nail shape, but she refunded me, which I appreciated. Problems arose during my second visit with Mie. While doing my nails, she brought up inappropriate topics, including a disturbing claim that Justin Bieber became bisexual after being raped by a man. Way over priced as compared to any other salon in Bettendorf. Lacking on cleanliness, was shocked that the station was not cleaned and very dirty, full of acrylic dust from previous client, and had to request the girl to at least put a towel. She didn’t apologize and was rather condescending.

Was my first time there tonight and the up charge for everything. I got basic acrylic which I already had on my nails from my last manicure. They up charged me to fix one of the tips. They also up charged for almond shape, which I believe is a little ridiculous because my nails were already almond shape. First and last time. Basic single shade acrylics shouldn’t cost almost $75

My girlfriends and I tried Universal Nails for the first time and we all loved our manis. My nail tech was so kind and professional. She took great care and detail completing my nail goals. The salon is stunning and timeless and of course clean. Everything from the wall sconces to the chandeliers provide a glamorous experience. I’ll be back for sure.

Pedicure went okay but waited 20 minutes past my appointment time for service. I complained and got talked to by an employee saying that I should expect to wait because they cannot predict how long each customer service takes … also I had to repeat myself multiple times because the employee didn’t speak or understand English very well. Not sure if I will go back there aga.
