I was assaulted by a trainer at the gym, Dave Buczek. He was arrested for battery yet remains employed at the gym. Dave and I had been arguing for a couple weeks before this happened. Been trying to cancel the membership for over 10 months.They said they would cancel it for me but I keep seeing the money taking out of my account every month. I finally have to dispute the transaction with the bank to stop them but yet they still send me letter saying that owed money and late fees. It was so easy to sign up but was so frustrated to cancel with them. My stupidity was trusting their words and didn't get anything in writing. I wouldn't want to recommend this gym to anybody.

I have been trying to cancel for a long time. I have tried everything to get them to stop taking the money out of my account. I finally had to change my bank account so they could not keep taking payments out! Wrote a letter to the bbb so Hopefully they can help! I would never tell anyone to join this gym. Shady!

Once they start taking your money out of your checking acct. Its impossoble to get them to stop. The owner is shady cant trust nobody ever answers the phone. Way better gyms ran elsewhere.

Since I know both of the below mentioned, obviously this is written by someone from Universal. Mark was not an employee and paid rent to train people, so there was no firing going on. People move on to better themselves. As you can see written by cubbie, it is nothing more than anger that he did so. I suggest to get the truth you either speak to. i have been a member with denny since he opened universal and he also has not been training people in almost 2 years. Mark Banter was telling people that he was the owner of universal and this is very untrue he was fired from universal and was not refunding peoples money not Denny!!!!

Can you rate zero stars?! I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or family. Most of the cardio does not work. The owner makes promises that he never keeps. If you pay him for training up front and you have to...you will be trained by the owner 1-2x then never get trained again. He will not return your calls or refund your money. This place is dirty! Oh and do not fall for the paid up front lifetime memberships!

if you pay in advance for trainning, make sure you get a written contract. DON'T pay in advance. I was "taken" for a lot of money, the trainer quit on me with 2 months left on the time and he cancelled on me for at least a total of 3 months trainning, in all I was "taken" for a lot. Lesson learned ALWAYS GET A WRITTEN CONTRACT, DON'T TAKE THEIR GOOD "WORD" their "word" it not a good word.
